What I've learned in the Woods
by Mike Bingley
I was sitting looking over my trip journal from this past summer
the other day and jotted down a few thoughts. I thought I would
share them with you.
What I've learned in the woods:
- A charlie guide can find his way out of any situation, be in
waist deep moose muck, financial hardship or a hard to reach goal
at work, just by sheer tenacity and improvisation.
- There are few friends better than those who you meet on the
trail. If those friends are bearing fresh fish or blueberries, all
the better.
- Shadows are wonderful things. They're always a friend, and if
you need to you can find your way by one.
- Always look ahead, but remember fondly the memories of
yesterday.
- Money is a wonderful thing to have, but don't earn it at the
expense of something you love.
Regards to everybody,
